What do you teach at ACBT?

I teach Economics for undergraduate students and business economics for MBA students.

What do you like most about the subject?

With economics we try to understanding human behaviour in a different perspective. Human behaviour is very complex and to learn about it one needs a wholesome approach. Economics provides us with a comprehensive set of analytical tools to learn about complex human behaviour

What do you like most about each subject?

I enjoy formulating and evaluating strategies for others and to make the learning interesting by discussing real life examples and relating key concepts to everyday life

How would you describe your teaching style?

Firm but fair and relaxed; encourage supportive and participative environment; I try to make the subject interesting to the students by providing examples relevant and interesting to others.

What else can you tell us about yourself?

I have been in this field for many years and I am an applicator of concepts to real life situations

IT units such as Computer Programming, Computer Fundamentals and Java Programming

What do you like most about each unit?

Focusing the fundamental knowledge required for selecting the best solutions for solving problems using computers

Being interactive and engaging

What else can you tell us about yourself?

I am an instructor of the CISCO Networking Academy and a member of the IT Curriculum Development Committee. I also spend my spare time in community development services.

Advanced Maths, Business Statistics, Finance, Business Knowledge Development and Marketing Intelligence

What do you like most about each subject?

All these are number related and highly technical subjects. I enjoy teaching them as I am a number lover.

How would you describe your teaching style?

Serious but approachable. I try to give students the maximum knowledge on a given area.

What else can you tell us about yourself?

I have a well balance in my professional, family and social life. I enjoy cooking as well as reading.

Marketing units such as Marketing Principals & Practices, Principles of management, Marketing intelligence and Buyer Behavior

What do you like most about each subject?

It broadens my knowledge. And opens a window for further research.

How would you describe your teaching style?

Use lots of examples from everyday life so that students can relate the theoretical knowledge to practicality.

What else can you tell us about yourself?

I have industrial experience in HR, Marketing and sales with Hemas group and Nestle Lanka Ltd.

Marketing Units and Business Edge units

What do you like most about the subject?

I have a genuine passion to teach Marketing. Business Edge on the other hand gives me pleasure when I see students realize they have actually learnt a skill they thought they never had.

How would you describe your teaching style?

Engaging and approachable. I try to show how each theory is relevant to the corporate world and use a very interactive approach.

What else can you tell us about yourself?

I love cooking. Although I am not Sri Lanka's next Masterchef, my culinary delights are edible!
