The ACT IELTS Centre is only one of two test centres in Sri Lanka.

The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is the first choice test for students wishing to complete an English test for entering higher education in a foreign country or wish to register for migration purposes. IELTS is jointly managed by British Council, IDP: IELTS Australia and the University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations (Cambridge ESOL).

In June 2008 “or the first time ever in a single 12 month period, more than one million people around the world (or two every minute) have gained certification in the world’s most popular English language test for immigration and higher education” (IELTS Press release)

Testing is conducted on three Saturdays a month.

Asterisked dates refer to both Academic and General Training modules.

TEST LOCATION

All testing is done at the ACBT premises, 442 Galle Road, Colombo 03.

REGISTRATION FOR AN IELTS TEST

To register for an IELTS test prospective applicants must follow the following procedures:

• Two recent (taken within pass 3 months) color passport sized photographs (shoulder and above)
• Your valid passport – no expired passport can be accepted
• The examination fee Rs. 16000/= (cash, credit card (master, visa) + 3.2 commission)
• Repeaters: A photocopy of previous Test Report Form is required

IELTS TEST FEE

The current IELTS test fee is Rs 16,500. This fee is reviewed annually and is subject to change.

RELEASE OF RESULTS

Results for IELTS candidates are released on the 13th day after the examination.
