Course Structure To be awarded the Diploma of Computing you must complete and pass the following 8 units shown below.
Instruction for all units is classroom based. Four hours of class contact per week are allocated to each unit. Assessment for all units is ongoing and continuous, consisting of tests, assignments and case study analysis. All units have a final two or three hour examination. The overall pass mark required for each unit is 50%. In some units a pass in the final examination is required in order to pass the unit. DURATION The Diploma of Computing can be studied full or part time. Students who study the program full time, that is, 4 units per semester, can complete the course in two semesters. Students can enter the course in March, July or October. MEDIUM OF INSTRUCTION English FURTHER STUDIES Students who successfully the Diploma of Computing are eligible to transfer to Year 2 of the Bachelor of Computer Science degree offered at ACBT or transfer to studies at an Australian University. As many units decide transfer acceptance on a case by case basis, students who wish to apply for another university should contact the relevant university for entry requirements and procedures. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS Students wishing to study the Diploma of Business must have 2 passes at O levels and a C grade in O level English and Mathematics. Students who have completed O levels, have a minimum of two years work experience and are 19 years of age or older are also eligible to apply. COURSE FEES The current course fees are Rs 42,500 per unit. This includes 12% VAT. ACBT reviews fees on an annual basis and fees are subject to increase.
