IELTS Testing

The ACBT IELTS Centre is only one of two test centres in Sri Lanka.
IELTS has cemented its position as the world's most popular high stakes English language test
with latest figures revealing a record 1.5 million tests were taken around the world in 2010.

IELTS measures ability to communicate in English across all four language skills - listening, reading, writing and speaking - for people who intend to study or work where English is the language of communication.

TEST LOCATION

All testing is done at the ACBT Colleges in both Colombo and Kandy.

REGISTRATION FOR AN IELTS TEST

To register for an IELTS test prospective applicants must follow the following procedures:

• Two recent (taken within pass 3 months) color passport sized photographs (shoulder and neck above);
• Your valid passport – no expired passport can be accepted;
• The examination fee Rs. 18,000/= (cash, credit card (master, visa) + 3.2 commission);
• Repeaters: A photocopy of previous Test Report Form is required.

IELTS TEST FEE

The current IELTS test fee is Rs 18,000/=. This fee is reviewed annually and is subject to change.

IELTS Results

Results for IELTS candidates are released on the 13th day after the examination. You can collect your results in the following ways:
From ACBT - 10.00 am onwards. You can collect your results in person. Please ensure you bring your passport and your IELTS confirmation letter. You may also send a representative to collect the results. If you choose this option please give the representative a Letter of Authority which includes all the necessary information.

Preparation Courses

ACBT conducts IELTS preparation classes including IELTS Speed courses to assist prospective candidates in sitting their IELTS examination. The courses cover all four components of the IELTS test - Listening, Speaking, Reading & Writing. Applicants can choose a 50 hour class, a 30 hour class or a speed course dependent upon their English language ability.
IELTS Seminars are intensive two day programs covering all four components of the IELTS test - reading, Writing, Speaking & Listening.

All IELTS classes & seminars are held in Block B, ACBT.

RESOURCE ROOM

All students registered for IELTS preparation courses have access to the Resource Room where a full time IELTS lecturer is available to assist students on an individual basis.
