Your tip for university success:

Sanjika Perera

What do you teach at ACBT?

Economics, Consumer Behaviour, Marketing Strategy & Current Issues in Marketing

What do you like most about each unit?

Each subject offers a different challenge. My biggest motivation is to see a student who walks into the class few hours before probably without any knowledge about the subject to walk away with learning something new.

How do you describe your teaching style?

High energy, Generally brings in a lot of real life examples & of course I love listening to a different point of view from my students. Most of the time they pleasantly surprise me with fantastic counter arguments.

What else can you tell us about yourself?

Love giving back the knowledge that I have gained & inspiring my students to be the best they can be gives me a true scene of motivation.
Other than that I love spending time with family & especially my little daughter Ashera. I can forget about the whole world when I see her beautiful smile (Thankfully she got her looks from her mother & not mine)

Your tip for university success:

a. Make friends & create great a network (Learn to respect diversity). Get to know them on a personal basis this can really help you one day even when you are out of the college/ university
b. Semester passes so fast so read the unit outline before you come to the class on the first day & have a game plan ready for the entire semester so that you will not be stressed out towards the end of the semester
c. Learn outside the class room (Get involved in sports or clubs & consider taking part in some activities other than studies)
d. Spend a little time thinking what you want to achieve in life (Your purpose in life) after you complete your studies
e. Remember lots of people are counting on you. Parents or guardians have done so many sacrifices to bring you to be who you are today. So remember with your behavior you need to make them proud. So before taking any action ask yourself the question? “If I do this will they be proud?”
